Foreclosure sales in Dallas County

Dallas County substitute trustee sales take place on the first Tuesday of every month on the north side of the George Allen Courts Building, facing 600 Commerce Street, under the overhang (or as the commissioners designate). Notices are posted 21 days before the sale.[1]

Where to find notices

The Dallas County Clerk posts the month's notices of sale as PDFs, sorted by city.

State rules

Redemption rights, surviving tax liens and tax-sale rules are set by Texas law. See how auctions work in Texas for the details and citations.

Before you bid

  1. Open the source listing and the official notice. Dates, terms and starting bids change, and sales get postponed or cancelled.
  2. Order a title search. Find out which liens the sale wipes out and which survive, such as property taxes.
  3. Read the bidding terms: deposit, how and when the balance is due, any buyer's premium, and whether the seller can reject the high bid.
  4. Plan for limited access. Many auction properties can't be inspected inside, and occupied buildings may need an eviction process after the sale.
  5. Run your own numbers before the sale. The free Multifamily and Large Apartment Deal Checks are a quick place to start.
